This production was created in residence at chashama as part of The Performing Arts Residency @ chashama. This production was also made possible with generous support from Thisisnotashop and The Morris and Alma Schapiro Fund.
"chashama has provided residency support for the creation of The Ladies Aide Society...chashama is an NYC arts organization whose mission is to support artists of all genres. chashama adopts vacant properties that are donated by their owners and converts them into theaters, galleries, studios, and window performance sites; chashama then regrants this space for free or at heavily subsidized rates. Since 1995, chashama has transformed more than 40 vacant properties and has given more than 6,500 artists access to space. "

The first four Fridays in October, somewhere on the isle of Manhattan, Wreckio will be expressing our right to tell your stories when we reprise the smash hit formula that brought you Based on a True Story: The Sex Edition!
We're looking for your letters, journal entries, or any written material on:
Anything political that gets your blood pumping – in the US or internationally past, present, or potential future!
OR ANY STORIES YOU WANT TO SHARE WITH US--we're always looking for material for the next Based On a True Story installment.
Send us a copy or send the original (We'll send it back upon your request).
